Is the Barn heated or air conditioned?
Nope, neither! Our Barn is as rustic/vintage as it looks, which means no heat or air conditioning. This just means that our season is a bit shorter (May-October). We DO have lots of windows and a fairly constant breeze on our property, which makes the Barn comfortable all summer long. We’ve hosted weddings on 90 degree days and no one melted. Word to the wise: make sure your guests are comfortable by giving them this little tidbit of information. They’ll want to dress accordingly.
You said rustic….what about water or bathrooms?
Well, we said rustic, and we meant it! We promise, it just adds to the charm, but there is no running water in the Barn. Just let your caterer know this ahead of time, and you’ll be good to go! As for bathrooms, an air-conditioned restroom trailer is included in all Barn rentals, with capacity to support up to 200 guests. It’s not your average porta-potty, and contains three stalls, as well as sinks for hand-washing. We also have an accessible porta-potty available as well.
Soooo, what about technology?
We do love the rustic/vintage thing, but we’re also not stuck in the past. The Barn does have electricity, so feel free to bring in all the romantic twinkly lights you want. We also have a sound system installed throughout the Barn, which can be heard on the inside as well as the outside of the Barn. The sound system is great for cocktail hour and dinner music, but we always recommend booking your favorite DJ to handle your dancing music. Our system doesn’t get nearly loud enough for the party to be any fun.

Okay, I’m in love with The Barn. What’s the process for booking my date?
Assuming your date is available (and we hope it is!), we will send you our rental agreement. Once the i’s are dotted and t’s are crossed, we just need a 50% deposit to reserve your date. The final 50% payment is due two weeks before your event.
Now for the fun stuff, vendors! Are we restricted on who we can use?
We know there are SO MANY talented wedding vendors in our great state of Iowa, and we hope you will choose the ones that will help you create your Best Day Ever. So, we do not have any restrictions on who you can use (as long as they are licensed and insured). However, we have been super lucky to work with some of these amazing people, and would be happy to recommend them to you. Just check out our vendor page for our list of favorites!
How about decorations? Can I decorate the space?
Of course! We want you to make our space your own. We just ask that you leave real candles out of your decor plan, and don’t nail anything into our walls.
What kind of accommodations does the Barn have for catering?
The Barn does not have a kitchen, or running water, so just make sure your caterer knows that! They are usually able to accommodate with no issues.
Is there adequate parking at the Barn?
Yes! There is enough parking to support up to 200 guests. For safety reasons, there will be no on-street parking. The good news is, Barn staff will direct your guests into the parking lot. Handicap parking is also available.
How about linens?
White tablecloths are included in all of our packages. The Barn will take care of placing them on tables, and dry-cleaning them after the event.
Is there space for my bridal party to get ready?
Yes! The loft of our barn is the perfect space for those final touches & getting dressed. The loft has plenty of mirrors, outlets and room for your wedding party to lounge. Use this space to get ready in, then allow guests to go up here and enjoy one of our favorite places in our Barn!
Do you provide day-of coordination?
As part of your Barn rental, we provide assistance with anything Barn-related. Think parking, sound system, layout, garbage removal, and bathroom maintenance. However, if you want to spend the day enjoying your event and not worrying about vendors, timeline, cake spills (it happens), and the like, we would love to set you up with a day-of coordination package as an add-on to your Barn rental.
